About This Place

Situated in the charming heart of Ponte de Lima, Panilima Padaria - Pastelaria stands out as a quintessential Portuguese café and cake shop, perfect for locals and travelers alike. Nestled on R. do Carrezido 7, this cozy spot is a delightful haven offering a rich variety of artisanal pastries and carefully brewed coffees that invite you to slow down and savor the moment.

The menu here is a testament to traditional Portuguese baking with a selection that truly beckons. Picture yourself indulging in their famed Café E Nata, where the creamy, flaky custard tart practically melts on your tongue, crowned by a delicate dusting of cinnamon. Or imagine biting into a Sandes Mista Em Pão de Mistura, a perfectly balanced sandwich served on mixed bread, accompanied by a refreshing glass of freshly squeezed orange juice – a combination that feels both wholesome and rejuvenating.

But the culinary charm does not end there. Panilima’s vitrine glistens with tempting sweets such as Natas, Palmier, and the delightful Bola de Berlín, each one freshly baked to golden perfection. For those who crave a taste of classic French-Portuguese fusion, the Gâteaux Portugais whisper stories of decadent buttery layers and aromatic fillings. Fans of a comforting cup will find joy in their coffee offerings, where drinks come garnished with extra chocolate and cinnamon, enhancing every sip into an aromatic experience described aptly as “coffeelicious” by satisfied visitors.

The ambiance strikes a harmonious balance between intimate and inviting. Indoor seating bathed in warm morning sunlight through the windows creates a serene atmosphere, while the outdoor terrace with umbrellas affords a tranquil space to watch the gentle flow of the canal outside. It’s easy to see why Camino de Santiago trekkers find Panilima Padaria a perfect sanctuary to recharge—offering not just nourishment but a moment of calm and connection with the town’s rhythm.

Customers consistently praise the warm, attentive service that makes every visit feel personal and welcoming. From Simon Veilleux’s admiration of the cozy yet central location to Dennis Hernandez’s nod to the superb “great coffee and awesome service,” the feedback paints a picture of a place where quality and friendliness meet seamlessly. Whether you’re after a quick takeaway sandwich with cheese and fresh juice or a leisurely breakfast enveloped in a gentle morning glow, Panilima gently invites you to pause, indulge, and experience the authentic flavors of Ponte de Lima.

Perfect rest spot for Camino de Santiago trekkers in Ponte de Lima; has indoor and outdoor seating with umbrellas. One of the few pastry/bakeries offering bread rolls, sliced cheese, soft drinks take away lattes and other extras for making a sandwich while sitting along the canal. Also great selection of pastries… all at really affordable prices.

This is one of the best pastelaria I found so far in Portugal. Small, cozy, great selection, all that at the center of Lima. They serve coffee with extra chocolate and cinnamon on top. Coffeelicious!

Good pastry and nice place to have your breakfast or mid afternoon snack. Morning sun comes through the windows giving the room a nice light. People are very nice.
